diary of feedback by Lin Li

The consequent warm second round discussions had been aroused in their family. An successful Audiolingual teaching example was given to my children. They gain a lot of great knowledge and precious sentimental nutrition during the party meanwhile their interpersonal relation as friendship were largely enhanced. This party is a best memory and valuable gift of their tenth Children’s Day.
Audiolinguistic classrooms are good mass medium technology for teenage teaching. It strongly stimulate the sensation and emotion of teens with images ad sounds. The teens can easily grasp a lot of linguistic knowledge and a lot of common sense of certain social and historical context within different regions. The booming of knowledge make them more confident and flexible to deal with the real and future affairs when they grow up. They will be eager to participate in the realistic society to fulfil their dream and job career with the sufficient ability they gained during school rather than merely enjoying a film in Audiolinguistic classrooms. Audiolinguistic taching methods can be realted to quite a lot range of different subjects, not only being donfined in foreign language teaching. It is a wide spread efficient technology which strongly influenced the quality of teaching in Chinese schools. Technology is quite a proud miracle of education which will continue to improve and influence the development of education of mankind.

Technology has been widely used in the various teaching  procedures in  China while Audiolinguistic teaching   classrooms are the favourite feedbacks by teenagers. As follows is an example I would like to show .

The sound of music is a famous movie which had gain several items of reward of Oscar. It constitutes of many beautiful songs which is quite suitable for children meanwhile an overwhelming patriotic spirit was highlighted in this film. It sang high praise of peace and independence. Hence it is quite fit to be as teaching materials in class.Several years ago, in the right time of Children’s Day, I hold a party for celebration using the movie I mentioned above as Audiolingual context. In class, we use stereo, projector, powerpoint and computer to illustrate the movie. After watching it, I taught the children all the songs and the detailed stories in the movie.we practiced the lyrics and rhythm again and again using prepared powerpoint documents. I hand out brochures with printing staffs on it. Cause it is a party we shared food and had a role play to recall the real circumstances shown in the movie. Seven children were chosen to play the roles of the seven kids of the captain. My tutor and I were chosen to be as the captain and Maria. We like the play and the sitcoms designed by the characters in the movie. They we stopped to discuss the solely spirit of patrioticism stressed in the movie and the tragedy of the cruel behaviour and the bloody war between German and Russian.Austria was a peaceful and beautiful country. The people there are eager to live and independent life. It can’t resist the disaster which was cause by Hitler and his crazy policy of discrimination of fascism.the children took down their own feeling and recited the dialogues among each other. The audio, linguistic ,lexical, musical competence were increasingly improved. They hand in their assignment by documents with their own laptop and store it in our own team blog. As soon as excellent articles were shared in the social medium context, enthusiastic echos emerged in the blog withcconseauen

What is your definition of technology? What comes first when you see the word “technology”? Computers? Mobile phone? Or network?

First of all, I’d like to share some of my ideas about technology with you. When the word “technology” comes to me, I consider it to be a tool  which is modern, related to science and may be helpful to me. Actually it did. It does more than I can expect.

Although today’s topic is technology, my true intend is to briefly talk about how technology can be applied to language learning. In my country, China, there is an increasing number of people starting to take online courses. In those online courses, students can either have real-time interaction with the teacher, or just see videos recorded previously by the teacher. Students can choose whatever they want to learn and decide whenever and wherever to have the courses as long as having the access to the Internet. From this you may see the affect of technology in learning. With the help of technology, learning is more than just sitting in a classroom and listening to the teacher.

So we have this blog. Our blog team is going to start exploring the field of technology in language learning. We will regularly share some interesting and useful knowledge about English learning with you. We also welcome questions and comments from you.

Hope you may get some inspiration from this blog and learn English with us!

Chaptre One

As for beginning, I’m going to share this poem On Children with you. It is written by Kahlil Gibran who was a Lebanese artist philosopher and writer. His works, written in both Arabic and English, are full of lyrical outpourings and reveal his profound religious and mystical nature.

On Children

by Kahlil Gibran

Your children are not your children.

They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you,

And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts.

For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,

For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,

which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.

For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.

The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,

and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.

Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;

For even as He loves the arrow that flies,

so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Word List:

Tarry (ies) /ˈtær.i/ v.: to stay somewhere for longer than expected and delay leaving

Infinite (s)/ˈɪn.fɪ.nət/ adj. : without limits; extremely large or great

Also, I’ve attached the song On Children by Damien Rice. Now you can enjoy the song and sing with him! It’s a very good way to know the pronunciation of the words and easy to remember the lyrics! Hope you will enjoy it~

This poem is  in one of his famous collections The Prophet. In this poem, he talked about his attitude towards relationship between children and their parents.  It’s welcome to comment and leave your opinions about this poem~
